A Brand Identity for Daniel Lupton Coaching

I don’t post half as much as I probably should on social media. Like many designers, I’m far more comfortable creating noise for my clients than for myself. Promoting other people’s businesses comes naturally — turning the spotlight on your own work can be another matter entirely.
That’s one of the reasons it was such a pleasure to work with Daniel Lupton.
Daniel is a life coach who works with individuals looking for clarity, direction and momentum in their personal and professional lives. When he approached Studio45 to develop a brand identity for his coaching practice, he was hugely open-minded and energetic about the process. From the start, it felt like a genuinely collaborative branding project.

The Challenge
As with many service-based businesses, particularly in coaching and personal development, the brand needed to communicate trust, clarity and professionalism while still feeling human and approachable.
The challenge was to create a brand identity for a life coach that felt calm and confident without becoming overly corporate or generic. It needed to reflect Daniel’s supportive but focused approach to coaching and position his business clearly within a growing and competitive market.
The Approach
The design process began by exploring the core qualities Daniel wanted his brand to communicate: clarity, direction, encouragement and personal growth.
From there, the visual identity was developed through a careful combination of typography, colour and visual balance. The aim was to create a clean and confident brand identity that felt modern and professional while still retaining a sense of warmth and approachability.
The resulting brand system was designed to work consistently across different platforms — from Daniel’s website and social media to printed materials and presentations — giving his coaching business a clear and recognisable visual presence.

The Outcome
The final identity provides Daniel Lupton Coaching with a strong and adaptable brand foundation. It reflects the thoughtful and supportive nature of his work while giving him the tools to communicate confidently across multiple channels.
But the project had an unexpected side effect.
Not only was Daniel hugely engaged in shaping his own brand, he was also incredibly generous with encouragement and advice about my own practice. As a life coach, many of the conversations we had about clarity, direction and momentum inevitably circled back to my own business as a designer.

Which is partly why this post exists.
So in a small way, this case study is brought to you by the magic of Daniel Lupton Coaching.
Sometimes the best design projects leave you with more than just the finished brand.
